UNDERSTANDING YOUR TREATMENT

What Is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy simply means the therapeutic use of cold. Cold application may be used during musculoskeletal injury care to temporarily reduce tissue temperature and help manage symptoms such as pain and swelling.

Following an automobile accident, your Chambers Medical Group provider will evaluate your injuries and determine whether cryotherapy or another therapeutic modality is appropriate for your individual condition.

YOUR RECOVERY

How Cryotherapy May Support Treatment

Pain Management

Cold therapy may temporarily reduce pain and discomfort in an injured or irritated area.

Swelling

Cold application may be used during certain stages of injury care to help manage swelling.

Acute Injury Care

Cryotherapy may be incorporated during the early stages of care for appropriate musculoskeletal injuries.

Muscle & Soft Tissue

Therapeutic cold may be one component of care for certain muscle and soft-tissue injuries.

Rehabilitation Support

Cryotherapy may complement rehabilitative exercise and other treatment modalities during recovery.

Individualized Treatment

Your provider determines whether cold therapy is appropriate based on your examination and treatment plan.

AFTER AN AUTO ACCIDENT

IMPORTANT

Your Treatment Is Individualized

Not every treatment is appropriate for every injury or every patient. Cryotherapy is used when clinically appropriate and may be combined with other medical, chiropractic or rehabilitative treatments based on your provider's evaluation.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your Treatment at Chambers

Step 01

Evaluation

Your provider evaluates your symptoms, injuries and clinical findings following the accident.

Step 02

Treatment

If appropriate, cryotherapy may be incorporated into your individualized care program.

Step 03

Recovery

Your progress is monitored as your treatment and rehabilitation needs change throughout recovery.

Cold isn't always the answer. Depending on the injury and stage of recovery, your provider may recommend cryotherapy, heat therapy, rehabilitative exercise or another therapeutic approach.
WHY CHAMBERS MEDICAL GROUP

More Than a Single Treatment

Chambers Medical Group provides multidisciplinary care for patients injured in automobile accidents. Medical doctors, chiropractic physicians and rehabilitation professionals work within the same medical group, allowing treatment to be coordinated around the patient's individual needs.

Your care may involve different therapies as your condition progresses. The goal is not simply to provide a modality, but to develop an appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plan based on your injuries and recovery.
